“Green Kids” workshop Tuesday, April 10th, Ridgewood

“Green Kids” workshop Tuesday, April 10th, 1 to 3 p.m., at The Stable, 259 North Maple Avenue.

The Ridgewood Parks and Recreation Department and Women Gardeners of Ridgewood invite students in grades 3 through 5 to be part of this “Green Kids” workshop during April school recess.

Participants will see how this is a special time of rebirth, growth and transformation. Hands on projects will provide discovery of the benefits of live worms and compost in the soil and students will transplant pansy seedlings and pot one to bring home. They will learn to identify a variety of bird nests and create “nesting bags” to take home or place in nearby parklands. There is a $10 registration fee which includes all materials. Please register early as space is limited.
